Terms of Service
Effective date: 17 May 2026
1. Who we are
Pointpol (the "Service") is operated by Nicolas Christen, an individual publisher established in France ("we", "us"). You can reach us at contact@pointpol.com.
2. What Pointpol is
Pointpol is a platform where users post political questions ("Debates") and contribute arguments for or against them, with sources. The Service is offered free of charge during this test phase and is provided "as is", without warranty.
3. Eligibility & account
You must be at least 15 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. We may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms.
4. User content & moderation
- You retain ownership of what you post. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display and distribute your content for the purpose of operating the Service.
- Questions and arguments are reviewed before publication. We may refuse, edit or remove content that we believe is illegal, harmful, off-topic, spam, or that violates these Terms.
- Prohibited content includes hate speech, harassment, incitement to violence, content sexualising minors, doxxing, deliberately false factual claims, and content that infringes third-party rights.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) scrape or bulk-export the Service without our written consent; (b) interfere with the security or availability of the Service; (c) use automated accounts or vote manipulation; (d) submit content on behalf of someone else without their permission.
6. Intellectual property
The Pointpol name, logo, software and design are owned by Nicolas Christen. Nothing in these Terms transfers those rights to you.
7. Reporting & takedown
To report illegal content or a rights infringement, contact contact@pointpol.com with a link to the content and a short description. We act on credible reports within a reasonable time.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of data, or loss of profit. The Service's total liability for any claim is limited to EUR 100. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under French or EU consumer law.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the app. We may suspend or terminate the Service, in whole or in part, with reasonable notice.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by French law. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the competent French courts, without prejudice to the mandatory protections of your country of residence as a consumer.
Pointpol is currently in test phase. These Terms are provided in good faith and do not constitute legal advice.
